We stopped here based on a recommendation from a family friend. We were greeted with a smile. We were traveling with our 1.5 year old son, and every effort was made to make our dining experience pleasurable. The ambiance was like a 60s diner. The chili was superb is the word. The burger did not live up to the hype, the bun was awesome! The meat patty was super thin, but tasty. Service was okay - not bad like other reviews. Chili tasted like Hormel straight out of the van. The loaded tater tots were good.
The food didn't live up to the hype and literally had the worst service I've ever experienced in a restaurant. The counter lady was absolutely rude, no one came to check if our food was okay, needed anything else, soda refills, or if we needed a to go box. Wrapped our leftovers with napkins and left. So upset with the reaction from the counter lady in the beginning of our visit that I didn't even care to get up and ask anyone any more questions.
Good food! But we experienced pretty bad service. Sat there for at least difteen minutes before anyone came to take our order! Pushed the button five times at least!
I brought my Grand daughter to Kroll's West Restaurant for her first taste of The Original Burger with her parents and she's only 7 months old. She is the forth generation of my family to experience Kroll's. By the look on her face I would say she enjoyed it as much as my wife and I and her parents. Annual visit from D.C., Had several Brats and the Wisconsin-style Chili (served over pasts) both of which were excellent, the initial ordering service was great, very pleasant and fast, but then there was no follow-up to see if I wanted more ice tea (which I did) or to see if was satisfied!
Had a double, fries and a drink. Spent lots of time here is the 80's and my burger was awesome! Service was just as good as always and I'll be back the next time I'm in town.
