We hired this contractor (Kelvin) to build a deck and screened porch, and it turned into one of the most frustrating experiences we’ve ever had. The project took 10 months to complete, which is completely unacceptable. He required 50% payment upfront, and after that, we received no response for nearly 5 months—no calls, no messages, nothing. No license, no permit, one year delay, shady subcontractors, so many lies. Update: Absolutely the worst contractor I ever dealt with. ONE YEAR after signing the contract for the portico, the structure was finally completed in February 2026 but we NEVER RECEIVED THE COUNTY PERMIT FOR IT! NOT TO BE TRUSTED with any medium to large projects. We signed contracts for a portico project April 2025 and a garage addition May, 2025. At the time I was told the portico construction could start in August and the garage in September. It is now October 2025 and NEITHER project started: portico is still pending county approval, and garage plan was NOT COMPLETED and consequently NOT READY TO BE SUBMITTED to the county.
