i’ve stewed on my experience at koru over the past couple of months and am writing about it now. i was first admitted into residential under the impression that it was pre authorized by my insurance, which was told to me by jacque, i guess she lied to get me in the door. about a week into my stay, we got a letter saying my insurance did not approve this and would not be covering my stay after i had already been there about seven or eight days. i then had to quickly be pushed down to PHP. amidst all this there were other form... read more
Koru Springs - Important! They do not have a "Certified Eating Disorder Specialist". My Loved one arrived in from West Coast and after being body searched and evaluated, they told them my Insurance doesn't cover the $36,000 treatment! I needed to fly back home b/c we don't have that kind of money available. Ummm what a nightmare. So, the Website is misleading and there is no pool, no gym, and the beds you see on the website, they are actually little twin beds. The eating disorder facility is SECONDARY to the Drug rehab Facility. Recently bought out by Bradford Health and being run very poorly. Therapists are overworked. If you are an eating disorder client, please find a facility that treats ONLY ED. This is a dual facility and they take in anyone, homeless addicts, and Duval judges send the addicts here to home them for 30 days instead of jail.
