dreadful, dreadful, dreadful – we came from Boulder to shop and specifically eat at Kona. we were the first and only ones there when we ordered pizza and sushi ( 2 of us) they came out together, shrimp was tempura and COLD I asked the waiter who stated it was cold as they were waiting for pizza??(no way it was cooked today!) Isnt that his job to coordinate so both are hot? Talked to manager who came with liquor breath! pizza dough was commercial , not made fresh a great dissapointment!
okay place – I went there on a Friday for drink and sushi specials. The margaritas are horrible. The first one was really alcoholic but the rest were so acidic and didn't have any alcohol in them, I had 5 and I didn't feel buzzed at all. The waitress kept forgetting our orders. The food was good though, the sushi was great (and competitively priced).
Excellent – Pete the manager, took the time to come by our table to ensure our visit was enjoyable. It was very comforting to see a manager show the type of caring and appreciative attitude that this one did. The food, service, and atmosphere was spectacular. I would recommend Kona to anyone.
Friendly Atmosphere, Excellent Food – I came in with a few friends on a Tuesday for lunch. We sat in the patio area and the scenery was very inviting. The manager Pete was very helpful in describing his picks for sushi as I have never ordered sushi before. I loved the food as did my friends, I will be coming back soon.
If you go to Kona pay with cash – I have had better sushi from the grocery store. It was tasteless and the calamari was so greasy I could have wrung in out with a napkin. The place was loud and the music blaring didn't help. I ordered a mint julip and the "drink" I was served was a "mint julip" as so far as it had mint leaves in it. I asked the waitress to take it back and off my bill. She did take it back but not off my bill. So when I was paying I asked her to take it off again and gave her my card. Unbelievably Bad – I used to come to this restraunt often when I lived on the Plaza. Now, I come in less frequently...and for a good reason. I have been there twice in the last 2 weeks and the service was horrible. Both times, we sat in the bar. The last time, our server was non-existant and our food took more than 45 minutes to get to our table( reguardless of the fact that we watched it sit in the pickup window for a half an hour as the staff just walked by). good chain restaurant – Great food and service if you feel like going somewhere trendy and franchised. I really enjoy the passion fruit creme brulee, The atmosphere is very sleek.
Interesting Fusion Restaurant with great sushi. – Well as usual city search has dropped the ball with the cuisine category. This is not an American(traditional) restaurant. It is an Asian Fusion restaurant, with American and Italian influences. First of all the service is always exceptional here, and the wait staff generally has a good knowledge of the sushi bar and what is fresh and what each sushi chefs specialty is.
