I ordered the omakase, amaebi, and negitoro temaki today. Surprisingly, the omakase was fantastic—easily better than the typical San Francisco quality. However, the toro was quite lean rather than fatty, which made the wasabi overpower the flavor in both the tuna pieces and the especially the temaki. I really wanted to gate keep this place but this place is too good. I live near Soma and tried out all nearby sushi places and Kombu is absolutely UNBEATABLE. SO good, highly recommend. I’ve been to a lot of Japanese restaurants in SF, and this is definitely my top 2-3. Every menu item we ordered has been a hit!
