UCSD medical has great staff. But patient care is suffering due to a concentration on tbe wrong things. UCSD is shelling out hundreds of millions to build, build, build. Meanwhile no one answers the phones at scheduling and no one returns messages for days. If you can't use the app to schedule care, you can forget getting an appt. I recently had surgery here, and my experience was fantastic. The preoperative team was incredibly helpful—from the receptionist who checked me in all the way to the moment I left the facility. Thank you nurses Iain and Hannah, for the card. To Iain, you are hilarious 🤣 One thing that really stood out to me was the cleanliness of the facility. I strongly urge patients to reconsider seeking care here. Despite having a documented fracture as of October 3, UCSD Orthopaedics failed to provide clear work restrictions, consistent disability documentation, or a safe post-surgery discharge plan. I was coming from out of the country, yet no coordinated discharge or safety planning was provided.
