Overpriced sushi and sashimi Kohnamis is one of the many sushi places in the downtown Santa Fe plaza area. The sushi and sashimi are average at best despite the higher-than-average menu prices. Service could be greatly improved. The restaurant could also try to provide better parking access. Not a remarkable restaurant.
too bad they changed the menu – I've eaten at Kohnami many times, in spite of the extremely poor service (the servers seem spaced out and confused) and the freezing indoor temperatures in the winter because the food was good. They've changed their menu recently, though, and it wasn't a good change. I don't bother going there any more.
Awesome – I've grown up eating Japanese. I've moved from Alaska where the Japanese was great. I have seached Santa Fe for great Japanese restaurants. Izmi sushi was okay, but I greatly favor Kohnami. It's a nice, down to earth place, with great food. I still have a few places to try, but Kohnami is the best yet, I give it a 9 out of 10 on the account the appatizer beef was a little dry.
