I purchased a new stump grinder with a 38hp Kohler engine. The machine had been broke-in and functionally tested by the dealer. One hour of operation, and the motor made a loud bang. Oil started spewing out the 2 inch hole in the side of the block. The company sent me a new motor, which ran about 45 mins...and now will not start. Buy Honda motors. Buy Harbor freight motors. Buy ANYTHING but Kohler motors. You will regret any purchase. We now have an $18,000 paperweight in our fleet.
