I hired Derek Pidino of Kodiak Builders in March 2025 to build a deck for me. The initial estimate was $7,000 and I hired him. A revised estimate came back nearly double but this was for a revised and enlarged deck and was the “premium” material that was needed to match my home. He is the most talented, knowledgeable, reasonably priced yet highly underrated contractor in the state of Montana. His quality of work is unmatched in my opinion. Do NOT judge him by his "Google rating", as it does not accurately or legitimately reflect the quality and craftsmanship of his work. It seems Google will allow just about anybody make unverified, slanderous "reviews" by people whom he's never even met, and then not allow for any kind of dispute, investigation/verification, correction or abatement.

he contacted me off of a Facebook post stated he would be very interested in giving a bid. On the day he was supposed to come and give me a bid very minimal communication stated he was on his way and never could show up. Would not text or call back just never showed up. If he could not show up to give a bid he would be hard-pressed to finish a project I am sure. Find someone else.
