We finished our basement. The contractor said duct cleaning was not needed. I hired them anyway. Good thing. The crew pulled out a pile of wood sawdust, drywall chunks, and even a soda can from the new ducts. The contractor did a “blow out” but not a real clean. Now our new basement is truly clean and the air is fresh. Never trust a contractor to clean ducts. Hire a pro.
