small, intimate dining If you want to go out to dine on great food, drink some good wine and have a long conversation without a lot of distraction this is the place for you. Good service and interesting decor.
The Knight Cap This was my favorite restaurant when I lived in Lansing and I still dine here whenever I am in town. The restaurant is small and intimate, just the place for a romantic evening or a night out with the girls. The food is awesome! The filet is the best that I have ever had! They also have a very good wine list. The wait staff is always attentive and accommodating. PROS: Wonderful food, romantic, great staff. CONS: Small, so you probably will need reservations.
Worst steak I've ever had – Their steak tastes like Pam cooking spray and old blood. They need to get it together, felt like someone stole $100 from me and then kicked me in the stomach

Overpriced – I ordered the Medici steak, and I must say it didn't taste like anything at all. The service was good but the food left quite a bit to be desired. My date got the Walleye and didn't enjoy it at all either. Very disappointing for close to a $100 meal. Would not go back.
I've always loved this resturant, the food and service are always superb. But the size of the resturant made the smokey atmosphere really unappealing. The good news... The Knight Cap has gone non-smoking!! If you've avoided this great Lansing landmark for that reason, it's all about smoke free fine dining at it's best.
Not my cup of tea... – My girlfriend and I had dinner here at about 7pm on a Friday night. We were greeted and seated promptly, the staff was courteous, and we were well attended to. That?s about the point where my pleasant dining experience ended. I was put off by the sight of the dining room. It was so crowded with tables that there was perhaps 10 inches passage with only enough room to sidestep between. I chalked this up to some sort of effort at coziness and pressed on. As the meal progressed coziness became intrusion as... read more
Excellent steak and service – I just came from having dinner at this restaurant. It has always been an excellent experience eating at this restaurant. The waitress is always courteous and food is excellent. The only downside to this restaurant is that due to the size of the place, if there are people smoking at the bar the smell will flow throught the place and you come out smelling of smoke. Otherwise I will definetely recomment this place for an excellent Fillet Mignon done to perfection.
