I’m close to a few people that worked at the Knife river in Bemidji and noticed that many staff were often not concerned with the safety of their employees. Employees were pushed to be at work even during bad road conditions, especially snow. Bemidji Knife River staff also did not often abide with statements they had made previously. For example: employees were informed they would have the opportunity to park their truck near their home in order to avoid having to do extra driving. We were driving on a 2 lane road in the midst of road construction being done by Knife River. We were heading south and a gravel truck working this site was headed north in the other lane. When WHAM a big rock fell off the truck and hit my windshield. We called and left a message for Knife River about the incident right away. They called back and emailed an incident report form. Long story short our claim was denied because we didn’t take a picture of the truck or the license plate. My question is how do you stop in the midd... read more
