We had lunch here. The pancake was perfectly cooked and fluffy the beef bowl was tender and my wife loved its mix with rice. The baked egg was my favorite. Soft, spicy and full of tomato flavor. We had dinner here too. The lamb chops were our favorites. The shrimp was salted perfectly and tender. The steak was my son’s favorite. Charred perfectly outside, tender inside, and again salted to the perfection.

I almost never leave one-star reviews, but unfortunately, our experience here was really disappointing. The outdoor patio looked beautiful, and that was the main reason we chose this restaurant. We had a reservation for 8 PM, arrived on time, and were told we’d have to wait until 9 PM to sit outside. What made no sense was that there were literally 15 to 20 empty tables, and the patio was maybe 20% full. Kitchen in the Desert is truly a diamond in the desert! The chimichurri was excellent, and the broccolini was just as good. The drinks were awesome, and the atmosphere really made the experience. Great food, great cocktails, and such a cool vibe. Definitely a standout spot in Twentynine Palms and somewhere I’d absolutely recommend!
