Beware of roaches! I usually would love a açaí bowl from Kitanda, but not this location. As we were ordering our bowls a German cockroach walked right across the counter in front of us…. We left straight away, disgusted that the place was probably infested.
The 3 girls that worked on July 19 around 4:30pm need to get retrained. They prioritize chatting with each other and being on their phones. This isn’t the first occurrence either which I why I’m leaving this review. How does it make sense that the person that’s taking the order then goes and starts making the açaí bowl and leaves the other customers that are waiting to place their orders. Honestly, if I could leave zero stars I could. The only reason I would go there was for the açaí bowls. The customer service has always been horrible. I usually overlook that because unfortunately it’s the only place to get an açaí bowl in the mall. But after today, I will not be going back and I recommend you don’t either. As I was paying, there was a cockroach chillin in the container of candy at the register and all the employee did was grab it and continue as if nothing had happened. Kitanda is my go to spot when I go to southcenter mall. I love brasilan food, and this place helps me with my sweet and savory cravings. I heavily recommend the Nutella bread roll, or the ham and cheese. Both packed to the brim and delicious. The acais are great but are not how the pictures look on the menus. I ordered a coxinha and it was cold in the middle so I wouldn't recommend. Overall a very tasty spot and sit-down area.
