I've heard of them and have used older models. 2 younger men came to our home, said they were just in the area and wanted to clean a room for us and that we weren't obligated to buy anything at all. Come on now... anyone that comes to your door wanting to give away free stuff or wants to just show you something is obviously going to try to sell you something.
