I was treated very disrespectfully by some of the staff and the psychiatrist and doctor.  I did not feel safe with the patients I was made to stay with.

Not recommended. As a visitor, you will be treated as if you are entering a prison having to submit anything metal and even your cellphone. The latter is probably the facility protecting themselves so that you can't document anything ablut the place. If your child is a minor, forget about being anle to bring the whole family to visit if anyone in your famuly is a minkr. Minors are not allowed in to visit. The staff at Kingwood Hospital is excellent! I love the treatment programs, and the team on Unit 500 is all exceptional and seems to really care about their patients. No one wants to be in a mental health facility, and I was no exception, but the entire staff got to know me and my supportive husband for the ten days that I was there voluntarily.
