The co-op provided me with such a great experience whilst living in Canada for the year. As an exchange student on a year abroad in Canada, I found the co-op whilst looking for housing, which ended up being the best choice! There are a mixture of Canadian students, as well as exchange students which was really nice. I would recommend anyone considering the co-op to take advantage of the meal plan- having 3 meals a day, along with brunch on weekends, was so convenient and made day-to-day life that much easier. I'm an international student living at KSHC, I had a great experience here; the staff are welcoming. When I first came to Canada, I felt alone, but after joining the Co-op, I met lots of friends from all around the world, many of them were also international students with similar experiences. Thanks to this platform, I gained the opportunity to experience different cultures and their delicious cuisines like Tortilla, Bibimbap and Lasagna. I’ve lived in co-op for 2 years (going on my 3rd year), and I can safely say this is the best housing decision I could’ve made! I love the community, and how many new friends from different countries and programs I’ve made. Events are also held frequently (ski trips, Montreal trip, pizza and movie nights) which are always really fun! One of my favourite parts of co-op is how affordable it is as a student on a budget, especially with the houses being in great locations close to downtown and the university.
