Good food, good drinks, good people! If you're in Oakland, this restaurant is a must if you're looking for good Jamaican, Caribbean food. I loved the Spanish town chicken with plantains and rice, the house made limeade, and rum cake. Superb.
Jerk Chicken is on point. The owners are welcoming and warm. Great vibe and a stable of Oakland.
I had the Oxtail Stew with Jasmine Rice and it was the BEST. The Rum Punch was AWESOME and the music was on point. I visit every time I'm in Oaktown.
We had a large group of like 30, so there were some hiccups, but over all it was a pleasant experience. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was nice. The food/meat was a little on the dry side. I had the French Toast w/ spicy chicken and my husband had the Jerk Chicken Sandwich. Next time I will try something different, but I will be back.
I would rate it as a 2.5 based on the wait. The food was good but I wouldn't dine with a large group again. At the least there should've been bread, mimosas or something to bridge the gap. I was with the large group yesterday.
They knew well in advance we had a large group coming in for brunch, yet they had NOTHING, prepared for our arrival. This poor planning had way too many of us sitting around watching other people who came in much later than we did eat there meal and in a few cases finished and left, before we were servered our food. Very bad business.
