Everything that I know about Arkansas rivers, I learned from Ernie Kilman at Kings River Outfitters. Their goal iz alwayz to make sure that everyone has a safe and glorious time on the river. I cannot imagine a day or night on the river without checking in with Ernie, first.
My 19 yr old son & I were in Branson, MO visiting family & wanted to break away for a day to float a river on a kayak. I had 3 choices w/in an hour drive from Branson: Beaver Creek in Ava,MO; James River in Galena,MO; & Kings River in AR. Despite the highest price I had ever been quoted ($75/7.7mile float included shuttle) for a kayak rental; I went w/my gut & the saying of,"You get what you pay for. The best outfitter on the Kings, hands down. They do it all and they do it well. They also have a great campground. I've been using their services, several times a season, for the past 7 years and they have always had the same friendly greetings and the same enthusiasm for the river. These guys are also a huge reason that the Kings is such a tranquil, pollution-free river. Call ahead and reserve some boats and you'll be back.
Floated today, it was great. Crystal clear river, and great staff.
