Remember the Bakery! – The restaurant food is tasty, with generous portion sizes, and the Paradise cake is really good. But don't forget to stop in the bakery on your way out. In addition to the King's Hawaiian Bread (in many incarnations), there are delicious pastries. I had a Florentine and brought home a Strawberry Eclair. Both were wonderful, and the filling in the eclair was still good two days later after being refrigerated.
Quality over Quantity – King's Hawaiian is a beautiful restaurant that is family-friendly and hangout friendly. They serve everything in huge portions and the customer service is amazing. They will always take care of their customers and make sure your food is on time. I love their large varieties and of course, there desserts! Paradise cake!!
Love going here for a filling meal. You can never pass up anything for dessert from their bakery. Their Macadamia Nut Chicken bowl is under-rated. Large portions of everything, like they serve it at a real Luau. The atmosphere is very comfortable, very roomy so you don't have to squeeze past people or over-hear anothers conversation. Only place in LA that I know serves Malasadas (Portuguese Donuts). Tell me if you know another - enjoy a little of the King.
This review is actually for their bakery. The restaurant is mediocre but their bakery, especially their signature cakes, can't be beat. For chocolate lovers, I'd recommend the Dream or Mocha Haupia cakes.
The Best – We already loved Kings but now our whole family loves Kings & their bakery IS the BEST. We had our wedding catering by King's & of course our cake & Kona coffee too. Excellent service, excellent food & a wonderful family atmosphere. After being to Maui it is wonderful to be able to come to a place that can take us back to the Island even if it's only for an hour : )
Hawaii In California – Kings brings a touch of Hawaii to California. The menu offers many local hawaiian dishes and amazing desserts. The restaurant and staff match the theme of Hawaii. Great food. Great atmosphere.
