5 years ago, I ended up with a tooth infection. At the time, there was a yearly cap on dental costs with Medicaid (something like $600). I had already had a few cavities filled earlier that year, so did not have much left on the account. This dentist tried to tell me I had TMJ and I needed to finance a $500 mouth guard to correct it. Do you feel like it's a silly waste of money to buy toothbrushes with cartoon characters on them? Remember, it may cost more, but anything that will engage your children in brushing their teeth regularly could pay off later.
