King Farm was started by Dana King's grandparents, George PeteKing and his wife Caroline in 1922 as a dairy farm. They sold milk to neighbors and friends as well as in the towns of Townsend, Lunenburg and Fitchburg MA. Their children, Wally, Albert, Paul and Priscilla all grew up in the old farmhouse at King Farm. Wally BumpsKing ( Dana's father ) was born in that old farmhouse in 1923. My Hometown is Townsend. I recently wnet to a local farm stand in Litchfield, NH (Wilson"s) to buy some fresh strawberries. While there I spotted some BEAUTIFUL(healthy) delphinium plants, they were not in bloom yet. I purchased three!! While planting them I noted the "Grown by King's Farm Townsend Ma." I smiled,and thought...yup,great things come from Townsend.! There was no transplant shock,and they are starting to bud now. Thank-you for bringing a little piece of "home" to my garden. Amy
