Great service & retail gallery! – I was a little worried to visit this salon (because of many negative reviews). I was wrong. It completely changed mine. The staffs gave me a warm welcome & provided me a great taste high quality coffe "I think it was Flavia coffe" while I was waiting. I specially loved the third floor gallery. Terrible, terrible salon – I've never written a review before on citysearch, but I was treated so badly that I absolutely had to. The lady there is very unprofssional. When she thought I was going to spend a lot of money, she was fawning all over me, but in a phony way. Great Trendsetting Enviroment – As soon as I walked in I recieved a warm hello from almost everyone at once. My hairdresser Mrs. Hwang was amazing. I have been searching for a great stylist and finally a kind friendly stylist that knows her stuff , has proved to me time and time again that she gives a great cut with fresh style. Very unprofessional; spend your money elsewhere – Never go to Kim Sun Young hair salon. Not only are they rude and manipulative, they do not do good work. There are so many good salons in New York. There is no reason to give business to this one. I am not a high maintenance woman, and am very fair about evaluating businesses, especially since I own one myself. Extremely unprofessional – I went to this salon for consultation having a highly advertised thermal reconditioning in mind. My hair was half straight from the permanent straightening I've had and curly in the roots. I explained to the styllist(with the help of someone who spoke some English) that my hair is really curly and what I wanted was nice big waves. Not impressed by the staff or the cut – Receiptionist wasn't friendly like the other salons. When i first walk in no one greet me; other stayler just looked at me and continue their work. First thing they did is to wash my hair which take them less than a min. This girl barely scratch my hair and raise it off. I was thinking "fine it just shampoo, no big deal as long the cut is good".
