This was my first impression of a Library, as a child in the late 70s, early 80s. A beautiful, marble home of tales of wonders and faraway lands. I remember when we learned that we could borrow 45s from the record section, and our dogs chewed one of them. I learned about Joan of Arc, Florence Nightingale. I wish I could remember more. A tremendous resource with an incredibly friendly and helpful volunteer staff.
Ample library of specialized sources, many generated by their members. It would be 5 stars, but their ban on photographic note taking and their need, as a private organization, to keep their fees and prices for research high, I see as a drawback. Nice folks ~ Genial atmosphere. Also...across the street from a great bookstore called, "Pourings and Passages.
