Having opened its doors in 2014,Killen's Barbecue is a highly popular local hot spot serving Texas style barbecue. The no-frills restaurant concentrates more on food than ambiance as can easily be witnesses by the contrast of the utilitarian set-up and the perfectly-cooked, slow-grilled dishes. Come in early before the food runs out and have your fill of pulled pork, brisket, rubs and smoked sausages. You can try out the full variety of meat options with their six meat plate or simply get a sandwich for a light lunch.

All around amazing BBQ. The brisket was moist and juicy, not dry like other places around houston. The glaze on the ribs still have my mouth watering. Not that the meats needed any sauce with so much amazing flavor coming from them, but that coffee BBQ sauce created a taste like no other. Mmm so good! I will definitely be back. Killens is definitely on my top 5 BBQ places to eat in the houston area. Hands down, 5 stars!!
Business response:
Thanks a lot, Trey. We'll see you soon.
My first trip to Killen's after learning about them a couple of years ago. Not quite as good as Pecan Lodge in Dallas but, now in my Top 10 in the Country for sure ! Was a lil disappointed in my Beef Rib, expected it to be a lil more Tender & a lil Meatier, but still good ! My Brisket & Jalapeno Sausage, as well as the Mac & Cheese, Potato Salad, Cream Corn, & Green Beans were Off The Chain ! Can't wait until I'm in Houston again, for my 2nd Trip !
Business response:
Thanks for your feedback, Mitch. Hope to see you back.
Been there several times, in my opinion better then Franklins in Austin. Worth the drive from Katy. Try the steakhouse, and burger joint also in Pearland. In Houston he a STQ a combos of BBQ and steaks.
Business response:
High praise. Thanks, Jerry!
I drove over a hour and a half to get to this place my coworker bragged about how good it was so first of all the staff was welcoming upon my ordering. So I ordered the ribs and sausage I was given the end parts which was dry but seasoned pretty good. The sausage was good but taste very peppery not sure why since it was homemade original no pepper. I can’t say I will drive this far again for the BBQ. Thanks

Thanks for visiting, Shelia. If you head this way again, you're welcome to request an inside cut of brisket, and yep, our sausages have a kick... blame it on our Texas blood. ;)
First time trying this place i was blown away on how delicious everything was i had brisket which was perfection. I also tried a sausage link which was great too. Loved the coleslaw and mac & cheese. It was worth the drive from San Antonio. The staff was really welcoming especially the cashier that night 1-20-18 around 5pm. I was wearing a San Antonio Spurs shirt and hat and she asked if i was from San Antonio and said yes she thanks for coming and she hopes i enjoy everything.. She even checked if i was enjoying everything ... read more

Love to hear these kinds of stories. Thanks for sharing, Fabian. We'll see you next time.
Incredible BBQ, awesome sides, franchise this establishment already! Well worth the hour long ride to get there from Katy. I've had this place recommended to me by my clients for a VERY long time and I have to say, they were spot on. If you know what good BBQ is, this is the spot. They offer a couple of sauces but honestly the flavor of the meat is so good that you won't want to cover it up. Great job Killen's. I can't wait to try your steakhouse!
Business response:
Thanks for your feedback, Scott. We appreciate it. And franchising won't happen since we like to keep a close eye on our establishments to ensure quality and consistency. Maybe a second location on the north side one day, though... ;)
We have been planning to go to this restaurant for a long time. The wait was not bad. There were four of us and we bought meat by the pound and some sides. The pork ribs were fantastic, brisket was moist and flavorful and the beef rib stood up to its reputation. The sides were amazing. The beans were the meatiest beans I have ever eaten. I do not eat cream corn but I ate two full servings! I would say the only item that I would not order again is the coleslaw. It was just not to my tasting. We definitely will go back
