New, cozy and elegant restaurant in the mission – I've been waiting for this restaurant to open up for 3 months. They finally opened up and its done in cozy elegance, with beaded red lights and gleaming hardwood floors! They have a nice selection of sake and the owner have carefully chosen for quality rather than quantity. The owner is a top notch chef and it shows in his menu and the quality of food. Excellent Food ~ Horrible Service! – I saw "Kiji" on Citysearch's list of "New and Notable Restaurants" and decided to give it a try. My friends and I went on a Wednesday night, and although they were not packed...they still made us wait by the door while they cleaned up a table in the front instead of seating us promptly at one of the tables in the back. Mission eatery dishes up sushi with style. – In Short The cozy interior, comprised of several small rooms, boasts mint-green walls, burnished wood floors and dropped red beaded lights. A line of back-lit sake bottles sits behind the gleaming sushi bar up front, while sociable chefs whip up specialty rolls, such as the namesake Kiji, which is snow crab, asparagus and tuna. Other dishes include clams steamed in sake and garlic, miso-marinated sea bass and vegetable tempura.
