My sweet, 7 year old AUTISTIC nephew was refused care because he wouldn’t wear a mask and that is absolutely unacceptable! CDC states anyone under 10 does NOT need to be wearing a mask, and besides that, how can he get teeth cleaned with a mask on?! Not all children are able to abide by these already ridiculous mask regulations, especially not an autistic child, and your office should use some common sense before denying treatment to someone! On top of that, the Americans with Disabilities Act clearly states that someone can... read more

Business response:

You have inaccurate information, have never been to our practice and are participating in a smear/bully campaign that we find shameful. We did not refuse care. We do not clean teeth with masks on, rather we follow the recommendations set out by our state board, that patients and the accompanying adult cover their face when in the spaces shared by other patients and staff, like a hallway. Once they are in the room where they will be seen they take their mask of for the entire visit. We treat many children with special needs a... read more

Kidstown Dental refused to see my 7 year old son who has autism because he would not wear a mask. You guys should be ashamed. I plan to post about my experience all over social media and to anyone else who will listen.

Business response:

Mrs. Liddell, This is Dr. Amy Luedemann. We didn't refuse to see you all. I am so sorry that the recommendations set out by our governing body, The Texas State Board of Dental Examiners, that patients over a certain age and the accompanying adult wear a mask made you angry. We did everything we could to accommodate you. We moved where the appointment was to take place, which was all the way across the office, to a closer room which was only 20 steps away, and asked if it would be possible to just lift the shirt over the mout... read more

I give 5 stars because I can’t give 10!! We LOVE Dr. Amy at Kidstown Dental. We were drawn to her office because of swollen tonsils and adenoids. Our MDs wanted to quickly remove them despite my daughter not being sick. Dr. Amy has taken a completely different approach with Kadence and I could not be more pleased!! My daughter had a very bad experience with a local dentist and was so scared (and often still is scared) of going to the dentist so Dr. Amy had a very unique challenge out the gate when working with Kadence. Both ... read more

This place is awful!!!! And should be ashamed!!!!! They turned my 7 year old autistic nephew away for not wearing a mask... and to think they work with children and treat them like this is insane!!!! So I suggest getting a little education on special needs children before working in the children’s dentistry.

I love Kidstown Dental and have been taking my son there for years. They understand ASD! Son feels safe and seen. Mom feels relaxed and validated!

This office was recommended to us by our pediatrician for a frenectomy. We were excited because they had great reviews. The issue started with our initial call. The phone goes to voicemail and I leave a message. I continued calling and get the same voicemail over and over. Finally I get a person, but she said they would need to call me back. Days go by and no one returns the calls. We finally decided if they did not call back that Thursday we would move to the second choice. Miraculously the call back. It was a week and a ha... read more
