We purchased a home in October 2016. Despite the multitude of problems that were noted, surfaced, and addressed within a year, there continue to be issues up until 2024. In March 2024, a hose located between the first-floor ceiling and the second-floor floor leaked, causing a gush of water to come down through the first-floor ceiling. I contacted a licensed plumber who performed repairs by replacing the damaged section of the hose. Naturally, a section of the ceiling had to be ripped out. The plumber stated that the hose was... read more

Poor quality purchased a home in 2008 have had many roof leaks since 2011 still having issues. Went and replaced the shiwer snd found a 18 inch open hole under the old base only covered by felt paper, drywall joints peeling in several areas of the home. Cracks in the ceiling and wall after just a few years , couple of doors binding after just a few years Electricians used wire crimps that came loose in several outlets. Hot water takes excessively long to get to back bedroom and kitchen. Overall quality control is very poor. ... read more

I bought a house from these builders in 2019. I’ve been at this residence now and have had multiple issues with the home. Every time I get something serviced by another company, the first thing that comes out of their mouths is that they built this item with cheap parts. This has infuriated me more and more as I type this. My question is why would you build with cheap parts? This has effected our livelihood and it’s draining money from our pockets now for 2 years and still have more issues with the home that has to be tended... read more

We discovered a subdivision in Burlington, NC and the builders are KeyStone. My and husband I decided we wanted to purchase the home in this subdivision, so we came with a money order to place the earnest deposit that day. Working with the keystone sales representative he give us the price with everything we wanted and he submitted to us the purchase agreement with those prices. We signed the purchase agreement along with the pricing, our realtor signed and the sales rep signed. The sales rep stated it can take 7 to 10 days ... read more

Buyers BEWARE... you never get anything resolved quickly or efficiently working with Keystone. I hired an independent inspector to tell me things that needing fixed. The report was over three pages and this was on a brand new house. The inspector found cracked windows and Keystone said the were not under warranty. I imagine cracked windows are cheaper. I have a water leak that they supposedly fixed last year (after a fight to get it fixed). The leak has penetrated into my neighbors condo, the same as last time. Neither of us... read more

My home is the house used by Keystone on their home page. I have had a leak due to shoddy roofing in our front bedroom. I have tried to get Keystone to replace the roof tiles. Keystone knows about the problem as they have fixed several houses on our street for the same problem. However they ignore our request for repair. They are making money off our house with advertising it, yet they refuse to repair their work.

I was so excited to buy a Keystone home, the exterior of their homes look amazing, the model home in Carter Ridge looked amazing inside and out, I talked to the sales guy Patrick and we hit the ground running. Fast forward closer to closing and my home almost being finish I started noticing the quality of the work was very mediocre. First thing I complained about was that my porch was already cracking not in the control joints but spider web cracks in all 3 sections and this was prior to closing. During my walk thru I also n... read more

Business response:

This buyer only had 3 items on the list of items to correct at the time of the homeowner orientation. All 3 of these items were completed before the final homeowner walk through/follow-up visit on the day of closing. The buyer initialed off on all 3 items as being completed to her satisfaction. No additional concerns have been sent to Keystone Homes as of the time this complaint was received. Keystone makes every attempt to address our customers concerns in a timely fashion. we must be notified of the issues and given a reas... read more

I'm sure there are a lot of people out there who have had positive experiences with Keystone. I don't dispute that, but this is MY experience and I feel the need to share it. In searching for a condo for our retirement and downsizing, we discovered the community at ***************** in Greensboro, NC. It suited our needs so we entered into an agreement with Keystone, using the contract that they wrote. We did not have an agent helping us (NEVER do that). We were told there would be a price increase on the condo in June so w... read more
