Bay Area locksmith ( aka JD Locksmith) is grossly incompetent and irresponsible. ( DO NOT get arranged to use these guys via KeyMe Menlo Park!) They sent an unqualified kid, Eric, to unlock my house door yesterday. The kid struggled but did not know how to unlock my door. He then tried to work on windows and screen doors and failed. ( A 2nd red flag that I should not have overlooked! ). Sorry but the key did not work , it was $15 for one key, it’s a kiosk there’s no way to get my money back or return it

This locksmith quoted an extremely high price (almost $400) for a simple car unlock. When I refused, they tried to charge a $79 cancellation fee, which felt very misleading. They also insisted on cash payment or transferring money to a personal Zelle account, which is highly unprofessional and concerning. Be careful before calling them.

I called this company to open my apartment door and was given a price over the phone. I agreed based on that information. When the technician arrived and performed only the door opening — with no lock replacement, no parts, and no materials used — the amount charged was seven times higher than what I was originally told.
