Dr. Shafer is an excellent highly skilled surgeon. Just as important he communicated to me everything he was doing every step of the way. He is patient and took the time to make me feel comfortable with surgery as well as anesthesia. My first experience with a complex ankle fracture that needed emergency surgery by Dr. Kevin Schafer went great. From beginning to end Dr. Schafer was amazing with explaining my injury with pictures and going over the procedure, answering all my questions and concerns. Dr. Schafer was at hospital early for surgery and gave me the confidence I needed to get through it all. Recovery was quite bearable with the help of Alison and hospital staff.
