Dr. Kuenstler took a short while to remove the wax guard, as it was deep and had lodged itself sideways in my Eustachian tube, making it nearly impossible to grab with normal instruments, so he innovatively experimented with several instruments in trying to remove the object. He finally decided to try to back-flush the wax guard to get it rotated to a point where he could grab the object by it's edges and extract it with a medical alligator clip.
