This person claiming to be a doctor misdiagnosed my lower back pain as a disc issue (it was not), while neglecting to order an MRI prior to his diagosis. Then he referred me to a physical therapist who does McKenzie style back extension work, which is completely inappropriate for my condition, and which caused my pain to worsen and possibly caused lasting damage to my SI joint. Visited Dr. Carneiro several years ago for a second opinion on shoulder pain radiating down my arm. His diagnosis was excellent and quick and was backed up with MRI findings. His physical therapists were top notch with implementing and delivering exercises that almost immediately began to provide results. To this day I still use those exercises when my shoulder flares up. Most comprehensive and most effective concussion rehabilitation.
Meh. Mediocre institutional care from a cog in a large mega-healthcare system (UNC). Long waits to schedule appointments (months) for a couple of minutes with the doctor without providing any actual treatment for underlying problem or remediation of pain. Many months wasted on mri's and physical therapy, thousands of dollars of out of pocket expenses with nothing to show for it. Stay away.
