An all around great experience. The atmosphere was laid back, the service was great, and the food was fresh and well prepared. We had seven people in our party and each raved about the meal and service they were given. We will definitely be going back. Not only for dinners, but just to hang out with some drinks. Great place.
I was here 7 years ago when it was called Mac Daddy’s & had the best meal I think I’ve ever had: shrimp and grits. Fast forward to this trip & we couldn’t find the place, but by luck we came to Ketch 55 and it’s the place! The shrimp and grits were even more delicious than I remembered! The staff were also very friendly & made for a wonderful dining experience. Next time we come to Avon from Pennsylvania, I’m making this a DEFINITE stop!
Not very good, ordered the seafood combo fried .. could have gotten the same quality at Red Lobster ... at least then I would have gotten a salad and my food would have arrived at the table warm. Family of four cost $127, with only 2 beers and ice teas on the tab.
Ketch 55 use to be our FAVORITE place in Avon. Tonight’s outing was really not good. We went for drinks and apps. Seafood nachos were very greasy with very little seafood. We also ordered their special... 1/2 priced steamed shrimp. Shrimp was “mealy” and not 1/2 price. Regular price is $11 for half pound and $20 for full pound. They charged us $14 for a pound as their special price....must be the “new math”. Needless to say... there are much better restaurants in Avon.
We’ve been coming here for years for dinner- the shrimp and grits are delicious! We were excited to try breakfast this year and it was definitely the best that we’ve tried in Avon! The biscuits and gravy were amazing.

Went in with my little family for breakfast and everything was excellent! Very nice and genuine people. Very sweet to the kids. Had the pork roll, bloody mary and a few donuts. Favorite place in OBX. See ya soon!
