The Kernow at Charters Towers is a fantastic place to stay. The unit was superbly appointed and comfortable in every way.
Valerie and Les are fantastic hosts, so friendly and welcoming. Nothing was a bother. So much space! It had everything for a very comfortable stay, including a washing machine and breakfast (toast, eggs, cereal, yoghurt, juice). And so quiet. Loved it. The history of the place is fascinating too! Excellent value for money. We wished we'd booked another day, 1 day was not enough. On our return trip 🤪 We're regulars now!
DO NOT GO HERE! Unless you don't care how the owners treat their employees. The rooms are great. The location nice and quiet. That's all true. Maybe even the service is good, but behind the scene everything is very toxic and intimidating. The place is owned by Les, a drunk with anger issues. He bullies the mans that work for him, talking down on them and yelling. With women he is nicer. He comes very close. But don't dissapoint him. Then he will become physical. Like he did with me. From the moment I called to book to the moment I left the gate, this place and the service was lovely. Quiet, clean and cozy… everything you need! I even asked for my room to be made ‘romantic’ and I was not disappointed 🌹
