Over the years we have adopted several great dogs from both the Bakersfield and Mojave shelters. Most recently we adopted a wonderful Lab from Mojave last Sept. I really encourage people to check out the Kern County shelters when they are looking for a pet. You can't beat their price either since the animals are spayed or neutered, have had their shots, and their license is included.

I can't speak for the other Kern County shelters, but I had a great experience at the Mojave shelter, the staff was helpful and the dog we adopted (whom my boys named Grim) is absolutely awesome!!!! Definitely one of the best dogs I've ever owned and fits in perfectly with our family!!!! I also adopted a cat from them when I was stationed at Edwards in 2005 and she was the funniest, most entertaining cat I have ever met!!!! I definitely recommend a shelter animal to anyone looking for a new pet!!!!!!

My opnion, I know of 5 officers that are currupt. I kn ow first hand and I will be the one that makes a difference.
