He is a very likable person. He has a good bedside manner and is tactful. That being said, if you want a doctor that is going to take the initiative and be thorough with your symptoms and concerns, this is NOT the doctor to choose. I asked for comprehensive blood work to be done and he ordered a minimal amount of tests after several requests. I moved out of Jacksonville 3 years ago. And I drive 330 miles round trip at least twice a year to see him! That's how top notch he is! He is my Doctor for life! He is the best, cannot stress that enough!
Takes time to listen and answer all questions, very detailed and clear in his explanations.
I can’t say enough about this dr.! When I read his reviews I thought he can’t be all that! He is that and more! Not only is he the most knowledgeable Family Dr I have been to in a long time, but he is very compassionate and cares for you as a person! My husband went first then I did and then I took my daughter who was diagnosed with an illness that I was devastated with. He not only treated her with such dignity and respect but he gave her hope! I’m truly grateful to have him as our dr!!

Dr. Mayer has been my doctor since 2010, he is the best. Super attentive and super intelligent. Not enough room here to name all of his excellent qualities. And I thought he was in his upper 30's, early 40's! Wow to the 50!
I have so much trust and love for Dr. Mayer. He never rushes you and listens to everything and then comes up with a plan of how to help you. I totally and honestly can say he is the most compassionate doctor.
If you are looking for a family doctor I could not recommend higher anyone than Dr Mayer. Dr Mayer takes ALL the time you need to explain your needs and works with you on supporting your decisions towards good health. My two teenage sons also like him as he speaks to them about football, school, etc and gives them a good feeling about coming to the doctor. He has taken over all my medication needs and informs me about everything. The staff here is great and I get quick appointments!
He is very compassionate and never rushes you...he listens....!
