Updated after recent exam: Have now completed 4 Houston Marathons on the TKR. Running about 750 miles per year. No change in thickness of plastic spacer “meniscus”. The knee goes through good and bad periods but just keep up physical therapy exercises and icing. Referred by a friend, Dr. Mathis lived up to expectations as he replaced my knee in March 2020, just before covid hit. Dr. Kenneth Mathis is one of the best Orthopedic surgeons in Houston, TX. My father had a total hip replacement with Dr. Mathis. From the very beginning, Dr. Mathis demonstrated great listening skills and compassion towards my dad. I was anxious of the fact that my dad would undergo major surgery given that he has been healthy throughout his life. My dad ran 8 marathons during his prime!
