First of all, I love this doctor!!! So, please don't think this message is about him. *** This review is of the staff *** I had a hip replacement surgery on Monday. I was sent home after a hip replacement with NO PAIN MEDICATION! I called the medical assistant (MA) this morning, and because I told them waaay back in January that I was seeing a pain management doctor. They made that notation in my chart. If you have exhausted every measure and are ready to have surgery on your knee He's that surgeon for you! !! My experience was one of Excellence and Strength! !! The dynamic care for patients from Dr Mathis office staff is Spectacular and Caring! !! I will always be Greatly appreciative of everyone's care! !! The PA's staff is Exuberant and Knowledgeable! !! I recently had my second knee replacement with Dr. Mathis. The pain was manageable and six weeks after surgery I do not have pain, walk without a limp and can bend my leg back to my thigh. I should have had the second procedure sooner. Thank you Dr. Mathis.
One of my best friends teaches physical therapy in Houston. I asked her which knee replacement doc is best, since she sees hundreds of knee replacements every year. She recommended Dr Mathis--she said among the patients she'd seen, he has the fewest infections and best outcomes. That turned out to be the best advice I ever got.
