Dr. Renkens, has performed two back surgeries on me, one was S1/L5 fusion, the other was my neck fusion on 5 & 6. Both surgeries have went very very well, when I woke from both surgeries I had less spine pain than before I was put under. Low back was in 2005, still no low back pain. Neck was 2016 November 11th, and pain free. Dr Renkens is my HERO!!!!!!!

Went in for 1 spinal cord surgery. I was sent home prematurely. Had to have an emergency surgery days later for a spinal drain due to infection. Then, a third corrective surgery, all within about 12 days. He has terrible bedside manner and was not informative before or after any of my procedures. I now have more back pain than I started with.

Horrible experience. My wife was injured in 2 different places, but he only focused on one of the areas. When we explained that her back was still hurting, he claimed that it was all in her head because he apparently fixed it all in her neck. He's rude, arrogant, and doesn't listen to patients. She was only supposed to need 2 months for recovery and it's been 7 and she is still in pain. Do not go to this doctor.
Had a major complication leading to a large spinal abscess and septic shock. This was due to the removal of surgical site drains prematurely. Very poor treatment of the subsequent complications.
I would definitely recommend Dr. Renkens to family and friends. I had L-4 and L-5 fused two years ago this past July. I had sciatica along with other constant back pain. The sciatica went away along with the back pain. After two years, I have a little back pain from arthritis - nothing like before. I would also like to recognize the lady that makes appointments, as they also helped me with my insurance. Good group of staff!!
Callous and disrespectful, doesn't listen or act like he cares
He did not give me any false hopes.He told me it might take a year to completely heal but I woke with no pain..the leg and hip pain were totally gone.He released the troubling nerves and for the 1st time in over a year I had no pain.He accomplished what no one else could.I consider him a miracle worker..nurses and staff are also excellent.
