We greatly appreciate Doug, our volunteer for the tour! He's highly knowledgeable and truly devoted. Kiddos experienced lots of hands-on, received a lot of information. The experience is invaluable. We would definitely recommend Kennedy Gold Mine to everyone who is hungry for the history of gold rush.
The places close to observers but you can still climb over the fence no problem. They need donators to reconstitute the infrastructure on the Derrick
First time visiting for a field trip. Love this place! I'm a huge advocate for preserving history and the Kennedy Gold Mine has done done a fantastic job of doing so! What a great way to show future generations how mining was done in the "old days". Excellent information and old historical photos bring you back in time when the mine was still running.
This is a fascinating place. I live less than one hour from the mine and never realized all of the history the location holds. Such an important part of our American story. Everyone should visit to honor the work that was done here and the community that was established because of it.
