History Established in 1982. Kelsey's originally opened in 1982 as "Nanny's Old Place." A few years later patrons knew it as "Nanny's," a place that was fun, local and always open. Kelsey Bernard grew up in Charlevoix and the restaurant was a part of his life from the day he was born. Named after his great-grandmother "Nanny," Nanny's was sold in 2003.
