If I can, I would give 0 start – The quality of foods is maybe a little better than the frozen slices from chinesemarket. However, the service is really bad. Some employees stand at the front desk, but they do not welcome customers. When my boyfriend and I got there, they let us stand and wait for a long while without saying a word to us. The second time I went there with my two brothers was really a terrible experience. The waitress ignored my request for some more soup base while she stood only a few foot steps away from m... read more

bad service; so-so food – service is poor: the waitress is totally oblivious to our table - she walked by multiple times without noticing that our soup is running out and that it is boiling like crazy. we had to almost yell at the top of our voice to get her attention. food is OK and small portioned: the beef and lamb we so-so; maybe a little better than the frozen slices from super 88. we tried the ostrich which is tough and chewy; i wouldn't recommned it. the fish paste and fish / meatballs were decent though. the soup is ... read more

better at home – my parents went once and came back w/complaints. something about their service, small portion at cheating price, or not fresh food. (sorry can't remember now it's been too long). i always like doing shabu-shabu at home, that way i get everything i want, plus i can get double the food at half the price anyways. :)

Kaze vs. Shabuzen – I completely disagree with the other reviewer saying that this is a better find than Shabuzen. I've talked with family members, friends, roommates and everyone agrees that Shabuzen is the better choice for hotpot in Boston's Chinatown. The only upper hand that Kaze has is the bar. Otherwise, the soy sauce is too sour, the broth isn't as flavorful and the staff isn't as friendly. Additionally, their shakes aren't as good. I wasn't about to write a review for Kaze, I was really looking for Shabuzen so that ... read more

Nice place for shabu shabu – I took my boss and coworkers here for lunch once and they loved it. It was also awesome that they had lunch specials (which were significantly cheaper than their dinner prices) and we were promptly seated. The food was fresh and there was plenty of options. The tables and the place is completely new so it's a nice place for a date, too.

Casual Chinatown eatery provides upbeat groups and homesick expats with a straightforward Shabu Shabu experience. – In Short With its fresh ingredients, affordable prices and helpful waitstaff, Kaze is an ideal spot for the Shabu Shabu novice. Diners use a pot of boiling water to cook thin slices of meats like chicken, lamb and even ostrich. (A plethora of seafood and veggies are also available.) Starters include stir-fried veal tongue, steamed dumplings and seaweed salad, while cooling ice creams are available for dessert.
