This was my second time doing a tour with Nature Adventures and I loved both experiences. This time was my wife’s first kayak tour and she loved it too. Shem Creek was calm and easy to navigate for a first timer. The tributary we took was pretty shallow for not being low tide and felt very safe. Ethan our guide was very personable and did a lot to explain the area and ecology. I highly recommend them for their tour, great location, and all around perfect way to experience Charleston that isn’t walking around downtown or hang... read more
Yesterday, we went out on a small women's group kayak adventure to Crab Island to search for sharks teeth. Elizabeth and Ben were great from beginning to end! Some in our group had never kayaked before and our instructions were detailed and put everyone at ease. Beautiful weather, great company, lots of laughter and two knowledgable pros!! I'm looking forward to our next trip.
This is a good location to access either going out the mouth of Shem creek or heading up the creek to explore the marsh adjacent to I appreciated the good information on tides and the ways tides would impact our time on the water. Thanks!
Matt, our guide was awesome! He not only knew marine biology, birds of the area and history of Sullivan Island he also is able to share history of the greater Charleston area. He gave us options for our kayaking tour and because he was flexible he also extended the time with us. We were into looking for shark's teeth on the island he brought us to and he never pressured us about moving on to the next thing and helped us understand the different teeth we were finding in other fossilized objects.. It was a great trip! Larry B
Elizabeth and Jay were great! We had an unusual request to paddle out to Crab Bank in the middle of January to see a rare bird. The temperatures were in the high 30s and low 40s with light winds, and usually those temperatures would prohibit a trip out. We dressed accordingly and Elizabeth accompanied us. We timed the trip just right with the tide. Elizabeth even loaned a pair of her neoprene boots to a member in our group. We saw the bird (Snow Bunting) and made the trip out and back safely. We highly recommend Nature Adven... read more
