Don't let the sales person tell you that 10k gold is more durable than 14k gold. Only a small percentage of the resale value is added in creating a piece yet you pay a lot for this when it is new. All of the resale value is in the metal content. 14k = 58.3% gold and 10k = 41.8% gold.
