Dr. K. Is one of the best Hand Surgeons in Fairfield County. He is kind, compassionate and extremely patient. I have autism so I need extra time to understand the surgical procedure. I am 32 years old and I have been living with 2 accessory extra fingers. He treated me with respect and check on me after the surgery. Thank you Dr. K.
I'm a guitar player who suffered a severe finger injury and, as a result, was extremely concerned about my injury recovery and ability to play again. Dr. K gave me his general opinion and then said something that concerned me. He said that professional physical therapy treatment to assist with optimum recovery was not necessary — and he said that even after I clearly expressed my guitar playing concerns. Had an awful experience almost 2 weeks ago having a nerve block in the doctors office. 24 hours later I had the worst knife stabbing pain in my fingers and hand. The diagnostic nerve block was for my wrist. When calling the office several times I was told to just take an NSAID. I was told that several times with absolutely no relief. Excellent outcome from both carpal tunnel surgeries. Definitely very skilled surgeon.
I would advice against seeing him, in my opinion . I agree highly with Dr. Daryl Styner's review of 10/24/2018. My appointment was 3 yearsalater and it still holds true.
Dr. Kavookjian’s outward demeanor was pleasant, respectful & one of “calm”, but, I was overall, very disappointed. He basically read me my MRI results, without any of his diagnostic translation, leaving me with more questions than answers to the problem I was referred to him for. He then presented treatment options with poor outcome expectations, & then asked if I wanted to “try” any of those. He gave me no confidence in any presented treatment options. All red flags, that made me go elsewhere.
Was referred to Dr. K for my carpal tunnel. He was very attentive to my reservations about surgery and recommended we try a few non-operative measures prior to going the surgical route. It's now been 3 months and I'm starting to see noticeable improvements!
