Scheduled an appointment through their website to see Dr. Blewett. The website specifically said they accept my insurance. Got a call cancelling the appointment bc they "stopped taking it in January." It's June. Your website allowed me to make an appointment; giving my insurance was part of the sign up process. Might be helpful if you updated your site and your intake form online in a more timely manner. Wonder what else is overlooked in this practice?
After almost 10 years and a hysterectomy, she refused to see me even as self pay. I understood she stopped taking my insurance because it sucks but I messaged her and her office manager messaged back, refused me and accused me of insurance fraud for wanting to keep continuity of care and self pay over using my insurance I pay 12k a year for and get nothing covered. My wife was very uncomfortable in each of our visits with Dr Blewett. We always felt rushed and the office itself seemed very chaotic. Despite testing negative for HPV my wife was given a colposcopy because she read the test as positive. Switching doctors was the best decision we made.
This review is several years old, but Dr. Blewett was an amazing GYN who practices modern gynecology across the spectrum of women's needs and stages of life. I've actually moved away from Texas now but may return for a consult visit because of her thoroughness and attentiveness to my specific needs. I switched back then because like others who have written in reviews, her assistant at the time was AWFUL with a very hateful attitude.
So far had a great experience. She is very reasonable and listens to my concerns. As a physician myself, I am very impressed by how responsive Dr. Blewett and her staff are to messages. Any time I sent a message or needed paperwork, they addressed it within the same day. I wish I could have her as my PCP.
