I had Kidney Stones and he described exactly what he was going to do and procedure. I would recommend him.
My initial visit to a urologist was quite disappointing due to my experience with Dr. Kaufman. He demonstrated a lack of responsiveness and professionalism, failing to return calls or respond to messages on MyChart. Furthermore, he did not follow up on treatments as promised. Despite my efforts to reach him for nearly three weeks, I am now seeking another urologist. I have been seeing Dr. Kaufman for close to 10 years. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He carefully monitored my cancer with multiple MRI's, PSA,s and biopsies. When my cancer was first discovered surgery was recommended by the previous doctor but doctor Kaufman felt that "active surveillance" was appropriate. This was very important to me since when first diagnosed radiation treatments like Cyberknife was still relatively new and my insurance would not cover such treatment. A bit surprised by the negative reviews. I found Dr Kaufman very professional, caring, thorough, and pleasant to discuss medical concerns with. Definitely a comfortable experience. Pleasant staff in the Fairfield office as well.
The jury is still out on Dr.Kaufman, but giving it more time as I have only seen him twice since DR. VINER retired.So far each visit was very short, less than 5 under 10 minutes, 1st time he asked if I wanted him to check my prostrate which I thought was unusual as that was what I was there for and previous Dr VINER always did and I expected him to and wanted him to. I had a kidney stone, and was in pretty bad shape. Dr Kaufman took great care of me, ensuring every little detail and making sure all went well!
I am astounded by some of these negative reviews. I have recommended Dr Kauffman to friends after my many positive experiences with him. ( and I am a nurse) He is attentive, intelligent, and easy to communicate with. He is a great Dr. wouldn't go anywhere else!
This is the most unprofessional Dr. I have ever had. Not once in 2 years has the pharmacy's request for a refill been honored on the first request! Normally they have to send multiple requests and I have to call the office 2-4 times to get the script sent. I am tired of it and am moving to a different practice
