Yesterday, i went to the URGENT CARE since there was no resolution for 4-5 weeks for my current medical issue from my PCP. Much to my surprise, the URGENT CARE treating Physician was, Katie Askew. Dr. Katie Askew practiced biased care by initially refusing to see/treat my 11 y/o daughter's stating “She did not want to deal with my behaviors if she came into the room.” And ONLY, after being advised of the unethical AND legal ramifications, she agreed to see my daughter. Then spent less than five minutes and then recommend we go to the ER for imaging because the labs and imaging at Urgent Care were closed by this time. We saw Dr. Askew at the Sacramento Urgent Care, not the Elk Grove location. Dr. Askew heard my daughter coughing and did not hesitate to come down the hall, even though we were still doing weight and height measurement. She immediately started my daughter in a breathing treatment and ordered chest XRays. Luckily, she caught that my daughter has pneumonia after fighting a fever, cough and fatigue for a week.
