Very professional, attentive, explained everything and compassionate. Could not ask for more.
Dr. Kate is a wonderful surgeon. She by far has the best bedside manner of any surgeon or doctor I have seen. She is patient, kind hearted, and takes plenty of time to explain her plan for surgery. On the day of surgery she came in full of enthusiasm ready to take care of me. I knew I was in skilled and capable hands!
Don`t waste your time or health. Went to her for what my general practice Dr. thought was a large incisional hernia following Prostate removal a couple of months earlier. Went to her, she felt my stomach...couldn`t find it. I had to put her hand on and then push to feel it. Still not sure, she suggested an image scan. Didn`t show anything. She explained sometimes doesn`t show. Returned to prostate surgeon...he for second time was not sure it was???? Went back to her and was basically treated as …..why are you questioning me.... read more
Had appendicitis, she did emergency surgery and removed swollen appendix. Great bedside manner, great personality, great surgeon.
-Continued from previous comment I woke up in ICU and spent over a week in hospital, I have a scar that runs down the center of my stomach from ribs to naval now. And, I experienced a few more difficulties that had me back at the hospital after that also. I was on medical leave from my job for 2 months and I am a single mother. My dad had just died 5 months previous to the operation and my youngest son who was close to him was still grieving. My son had serious depression and anxiety when this happened and he was at the hosp... read more
I totally recommend Dr. Makonhon to family and friends. If I ever have to have surgery again I will go to Dr. Makonhon. I recently had to have an emergency surgery for acute appendices. She is very caring and took her time to fully explain procedure. she is genuinely caring and takes time to listen and reply to questions. My procedure was quick and the least painful surgery I have ever had.
Claimed I had hernias not once else saw on scans. Talked me into both surgeries. Been a nightmare for 7 months on both. Infections, scars that wont heal. Kicked me out to pain management and refused my calls. Seeking legal counsel. Avoid at all costs,.
I was admitted 3 times through ER for small bowel obstructions in a a period of 7 weeks. Dr. Makohon was not quick to suggest surgery, exploring all other options. After 3rd obstruction I was scheduled for small bowel surgery. She was amazing in her attention to me, her explaining the surgery, and availability to me while in the hospital and recovery at home. When she showed up either in my hospital room or ER, I felt like she was going to help me with my pain and find a solution to my problem.
beware! Old school dr that does not do advanced new surgeries!
