Go elsewhere if you want a say in what contact lenses you use. This ws the only office ive ever been to that pushed more expensive lenses over my current, simply because I mentioned them drying out. Not only recommend a more expenside but also an additional $24 drop to go along with. The recommended lenses are no more comfortable than my current. This review is for the Rocky Mount, VA location but assume they are all just as bad. I went to Kartesz in Rocky Mount VA for the first time last year. Only had a yearly exam so no complaints. The problem came this year. They sent me a reminder that I was due for another eye exam. I made my appointment, had my exam and ordered my new contacts. Only after all of that they tell me that it hasn't been 12 months since my last visit so I have to pay for 100% of my exam and contacts. This cost me hundreds of dollars. They admitted ... read more
Find an ethical optometrist elsewhere! I have been a patient of this and the prior owner Dr Rappaport, since the early 1960's. I have always been pleased, but a recent experience has ruined that long time relationship. In fall of 2018 I went in for an exam and to order new glasses & frames. I gave them my vision care insurance card, had the exam, ordered new lenses & frames and discussed the cost. I was given a sheet with what my portion of the bill would be.
