2020 Best of McHenry County Tire Shop Founded in 1975 as Karsten's Service, Karsten's Tire & Auto has always been a family owned and run business. Originally owned by Ronald Karsten, the business was eventually taken over by his son, Tim Karsten in the early 90's. In October 2011, we moved in to a brand new facility that is nearly 7 times the size of the last location; growing from 2 bays to 13 bays. Still in our prime, we are continuing to grow our customer base and service the community to the best of our ability.

avoid like the black plague!!! The female that processed my payment was the rudest, most unprofessional female that I have come across in the service industry. When the charge to my credit card did not reflect the advertised and posted cost of the oil change, she was pissed that I actually questioned the charge. Avoid this place unless you appreciate being treated like garbage!
Crooks When in for oil change they broke a tire sensor and then charged me $98.41 to replace it. I'm filing a small claim against them.
Rip Off! $30 charge for labor to install a light bulb I provided = RIP OFF!!! Make sure you get an estimate up front.
Extremley Expensive and Unprofessional I was extemley disappointed with this service. They charge $75 for a jump and it took over an hour for them tI o show up. When I had originally called they quoted me half this price and then after jumping my vehicle, they then informed me that this would actually cost me the price listed above. If I had not had 2 children under the age of 3 in the vehicle, I would have walked to the nearest store, however, instead I was stuck with having to pay.
